Micro Apps for Wearable Android

WIMM Labs (www.WIMM.com) has created hardware, software, and web services for a new class of wearable products, which put a powerful computer on your wrist, belt, pendent - or anywhere else you choose. With a color touch screen, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, and several sensors, the WIMM One runs Android natively, and also connects to your smartphone. This session will focus on the larger trends in the industry, the technology from WIMM Labs, and the opportunities to create Android-based Micro Apps for the WIMM platform.

Agenda:

6.30pm - Arrival, Pizza, Drinks, Network

7.00pm - Welcome, Announcements

7.15pm - Presentation Starts

8.15pm - Q&A

8.30pm - Adjournment

Fathom Creative, Inc is sponsoring the location for this Meetup. Here is information about parking around Fathom.  Parking meters and time limits stop at 6:30, there are a few spots that stop at 5.  There are two parking garages right on Thomas Circle, one in the Donavan Hotel and the other is right next to the CVS, both entrances are on 14th Street. Both garages are about two and a half blocks from the office – about a 5-minute walk. There is also a Whole Foods on P Street, a little closer (perhaps a good place to park if you need to some shopping prior or after the Meetup).  Fathom Creative is right on 14th Street and is a grey and white building with large glass windows in the front.  Press the buzzer next to the door on right hand side, as that goes upstairs to the gallery where the Meetup is held.

WimmLabs is sponsoring Pizza and Drinks for the event.

Bio: Ted Ladd is the Director of the WIMM Ecosystem, working with developers and partners to bring apps, accessories, and content to the platform. He has held similar roles a Palm Inc. He is addicted to gadgets and chocolate.

good looking, versatile product. The developer space appears not to be saturated so there are opportunities to design original apps for various markets.
