Friday Evening Conversation at IHOP 4/25

  • April 25, 2014 · 7:30 PM

Join me at the IHOP on Arlington Blvd. in Falls Church for some Friday evening general discussion, preferably with those on the older end of Gen-X. Free parking. New Mensans and introverts are especially welcome! I'll be there at 7:30 pm, and we'll keep talking as late as people are interested in staying. Arriving late is fine, but please keep your RSVP updated if you cannot attend. This is located inside the Beltway, at the intersection of Arlington Blvd and Annandale Road (small shopping area with a CVS). - Sandy Marshall, Metropolitan Washington Mensa

Thanks all for attending! I enjoyed everyone's company.

I will likely need to wait until July for the next one, but I'm sure I will see you all before then!!!!!

Fortunately, we're all local, so I hope to socialize with y'all soon, maybe even tomorrow if you attend Cliff & Marcia's NMOH. I've been to their home several times already; they're both very nice. Last time some of us played Charades in one room - it was hilarious! :) Have fun tonight & see you soon!

Sandy- I talked w/ manager Terry this a.m. She was very nice & said they really don't have GF items, but they could 'put together' something for me, - like from fruits & veggies selections. Yes, an omelet would be great, but here it's more a matter of the kitchen/cooking staff not knowing about how to make sure I don't get any microscopic pancake flour bits landing in it. Terry won't be there, but said to alert the manager to keep an eye on things in the kitchen. I told Terry I appreciated her honesty, but I think I'm going to pass on this one. Besides the whole GF thing, it's $14 transepo., & it's supposed to pour, & I've still got poison ivy - in fact, I've re-exposed myself somehow, fresh break-outs, so I'm going to be home today re-cleaning everything I can think of.

Edee -I sure hope they can do something gluten-free (omelet?). If not feel free to bring your own.

I called them yesterday & again just now; haven't reached a knowledgeable manager yet. Arnold (limited English) says he can't do gluten-free, but asks me to call back tomorrow a.m. & talk to Terry. I'm still planning to come at least to socialize, but may eat beforehand or bring my own food. <sigh>

I hope my poison ivy will be gone by then so you can recognize me :)

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
