Tocqueville's Democracy in America

We will read selections from Tocqueville's classic work of political science, Democracy in America, which examines the development of democracy in the United States.
The reading list is from the St. Johns College, Annapolis, reading list. We can discuss the reading list at the first meeting if anyone is confused.
You can use any translation you wish, but St. John's recommends three possible translations: Bradley (the pages listed here are from the Everyman edition); Lawrence (Harper Perennial); and Mansfield (University of Chicago Press).
