Mingle and Talk Startup Strategies

A lot of people have joined this group since the last time it met, myself included. It seems like time to have another event. What I am most interested in is sharing and discussing how we handle the many mundane details of a hardware startup (logistics, manufacturing, sales, etc.), but this could also just be a chance to learn about each other face-to-face. What do you guys think?

I don't think it's necessary to be that formal for the next meeting. We could just have everyone come in with an idea of what they are going to share; some tip or trick, some technique or shortcut that works well for a hardware startup.

We could start by creating a list of topics that each of us would like to be discussed and then have various members agree to give a talk and lead discussion that may follow

    To all
I think this has been one of our best and most productive meetings so far, for this meetup. In a lot of ways Geoff is correct, in that the other tech meetings that are held in bars tend to be just great social events and we never talk too much about the tech topics that we came to discuss. So in that light the Tech Shop was a perfect place. We had a great and productive time sharing info on the problems of starting and running a hardware involved startup. We all found I think, that we can share resources to help each other. Geoff suggested and I agree, that we all could give talks on subject expertise that we each have to share with the other members. The meetup groups are only good if the members work to contribute the learned knowledge among all the members
It seems to me that the group I met today has a lot of good diverse experience, that can be shared.

Hi I don't think I'll be able to make it today!

I'm going to be late, as I apparently have a class that overlaps this meetup (so don't wait for me to start mingling!). When you arrive at Techshop, just let the front desk know you are there for the DC Hardware Startup Meetup, and they will direct you to the conference room.
