Re: [DC-JBug] JBoss JEE Workshop Tutorial

Thanks for all of you who came out for the event!

I covered a lot of stuff in the demo and I know it can be hard to take it all in. I put together this tutorial so that you can retrace all the steps (and more) at your own pace. I'm definitely interested in hearing your feedback if you have questions, ideas or run into snags.

The tutorial even covers Arquillian, an integration testing platform for Java EE, which I didn't have time to show last night. If you want a gentler introduction to Arquillian, check out this getting started guide:

That's a temporary URL until we can get the site published officially, but I'm sharing it so that I can get it into your hands as soon as possible.

Also, here's a slide deck similar to the one I presented (this is the one we presented at W-JAX):

See ya next time!

Hopefully many of you were able to make the Dan Allen talk at the NovaJUG last night.  Dan has written up a tutorial that steps through all of the demos that he showed last night.  There is some great stuff in there about OpenShift, Forge, Arquillian and AS7.   Check it out and post your experiences to our group forum.

Next month, we'll have Peter Larsen talk about Data Virtualization using Teiid (http://www.jboss.org/teiid) and JBoss Enterprise Data Services ( http://www.jboss.com/products/platforms/dataservices/ ).  We'll learn several things including how to aggregate multiple, disparate data sources (web services, oracle databases, text files, postgres databases, etc) into one unified view of your data.  This is a new twist to solving ETL and Business Intelligence reporting.

See you next month,
Isaac
