DC Metro Aviation Club

Our mission is simple - to help you make new friends who are interested in aviation!

Aircraft are fun! Whether you're interested in flying them (as a passenger or pilot), photographing them, or simply seeing them at airshows or museums, this club is for you!

We are a subsidiary of the UNOFFICIAL athletic, aviation, & social club of The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). We have a wide range of members spanning people who have been interested in aviation for years, to people who only recently became curious about airplanes.

Examples include:

Licensed Pilots (Private, Commercial, Military, etc.).
Future Pilots (People who want to become licensed).
People who'd like to take an introductory flight lesson.
People who just like to fly occasionally, w/o getting licensed.
Air Traffic Controllers.
People who like to photograph airplanes.
People who don't fly but love watching & talking about planes.

Some of the events we plan to hold are:

Aviation Happy Hours at Reagan National Airport (the bar has a view of the runway!)
Group visits to air museums such as the National Air & Space Museum & Udvar-Hazy.
Airport Kayaking (see planes up close & directly overhead!)
Airport Plane-Watching BBQ & Wiffle-Ball game (see planes up close and directly overhead)
Andrews Air Force Base Airshow
