Board Gaming and Baby Sitting (Parents night out)

  • Needs a date

  • Needs a location

  • Gaming with children can be difficult sometimes impossible. This event will have a slight cost Dependant on how many children you bring + a slight location cost depending on how many people are interested.
  • Event will include organized children activities Possibly including storytelling, Drawing and or craft events. Depending on the number and ages of children coming to the event there will be 1 or MORE sitters.

The Adults will be able to play hopefully with little interruption various short and long duration as any usual gaming event. This event may include food depending on when it starts.

if your interested let me know ages of children if your willing to help plan for the children events plus any suggestions you might have for a regular gaming event.

Due to the nature of the event to help plan any attendees will need to RSVP in advance at least a couple days in advance to book sitters and location.

I can't see this working without a babysitter. At least for my kid. Buncha people sitting around talking? He'd be all over the place. :)

hmm didn't realize you can now reply to specific messages. But look above there will be several babysitters depending on who reserves.

I think your missing the point there will be several babysitters. Depending on how many children are present. the idea is to have games for the parents and the children

I will start looking around as well. Do we want the kids with us or with a babysitter? One place that may work but I need to investigate this is to hold it at Lifetime fitness they have a fantastic all ages play room from infant - preteen. They also have meeting rooms as well. They do allow birthday parties for non members with at least one of the participant being a member. But this will not be a free event of course. This may require a minimum number of players/parents to make this cost effective. if anyone knows of a building that has a kids play area & meeting rooms thats going to work the best. Other in area places I can think of is Ida Lee Rec center in Leesburg or Claud Moore Rec Center in sterling. Both those locations would probably require us to higher the sitters seperately. Care.com has excellent in area Sitters many with collage degrees. Number of Childcare providers would be dependant on number and ages of the kids.

I'm going to try to find a place to hold this, and get back to you all. I think there's enough interest to warrant at least a little investigation; will report back soon!

Hi. Just saw this meetup and thought it might be fun, though my wife is not a gamer. We have a three year old who is a big spider man fan.... so future gamer. :) Interested to see if this gets anywhere.

Don, do you have a place in mind? You know I'm all for it, but I'm curious as to where...can you host a lot of kids? Yours + mine is 6 right there, and if Adam is there, that's a pretty big group.

It is a very good idea. When my kids were home, I integrated them into the games, but that does not work for everyone.
