What do you use (or want to use) Perl to accomplish?

I use PERL for utility scripts for Ops. These days I mostly develop backend servlets in Java on Linux but find PERL excellent for tools as it makes them very light weight in terms of CPU and memory.

I have 22 years of experience working in the computer industry; over 13 years in the field of InfoSec/ComSec. Since Sept. 2004, I have worked on backend systems powering AOL Radio, SHOUTCast, AOL Video, and since late 2008, AOL Mail.
