Another Show and Tell!

Please join us on August 14th for an exciting evening of self-tracking presentations, tools demonstrations, and amazing conversation.

We're happy to hosted by our friends at the the Carney Center. Come to meet new people, check out new hands-on gadgets and tools, enjoy healthy food and wine, and learn from personal stories.

7 -7:30 pm SOCIAL TIME & DEMOS

If you have a self-tracking project, gadget, app, or idea you'd like to share or demo, but you don't want to get up and talk about it, the workshop hour is perfect for you.You don't need to have a prepared talk, just let us know if you want to participate.

Just to be clear, we save the talks for personal accounts of self-tracking and self-experimentation, rather than sales/investor pitches. But of course we are also interested in tools! If you are making something useful for self-trackers – software, hardware, web services, or data standards – please demo it in this workshop portion of the Show&Tell.

We'll also have some light snacks and refreshments available during this social time.

7:30 pm – 9 pm IGNITE SHOW&TELLS

If you'd like to talk about your personal self-tracking story, please let us know in your RSVP so we can discuss your topic. In your talk, you should answer the three prime questions: What did you do? How did you do it? What did you learn?

If you've never been to a meetup before, you can get a sense of what the talks are like from watching

9 - 10 pm SOCIAL TIME

Talk to the speakers, chat with new and old friends, ask other people what they're tracking, and generally hang out and have a great time.

Thank you and see you there!

I enjoyed my first QS meetup - the presentations, the conversations, learning new tools. I appreciate you all giving me the opportunity to present and tell my story. I'm looking forward to more meetups and conversation on this topic.

There was a discussion at the meetup about leveraging mobile phone data (i.e. passively tracked data) as an indicator for health etc... If interested in that, check out

Thanks everyone for the questions and thoughts during my demo at the meetup last night. Sorry I had to leave as I had a prior commitment. There are so many John's in the local QS community. I think I'm going to create a Log on to quantify the John's. See y'all at the next one.

The team is trying to organize a bit better for the next meetup. We have found 3 great speakers!

The format of the meetup will follow along the lines of:
    Meeting: 60-90 mins long.
    (2) 10 minutes intro.
    (3) 10 minutes introduce yourselves
    (4) [masked] min "show and tells"
    (5) 5-10 min for announcements and updates.
    (6) 15-20 min networking before the meeting

There will be plenty of food thanks to John! Hope to see you there.
