Spend an afternoon learning about Linux, the Robot Operating System (ROS), and helping increase technology access to DC residents. PunchRock Labs, our co-host, has several laptops that require a complete hard drive wipe before they can be put into service through community technology workshops. We'll get Linux installed on these laptops, and go through the additional steps to installing ROS, the leading open-source robotics software used by research labs, hobbyists, and companies around the world. A brief overview of ROS will be provided.
Prerequisites: Experience installing Linux (any distribution)
Everyone is encouraged to bring personal laptops to wipe or dual boot. Laptop donations are also welcome!
