My name is Karl and I am the organizer of two meetup tech groups in Virginia. I stated the first Hackerspace in Virginia called Reverse Space and just started the Home Automation Group of Virginia. Robotics is very important to the new group
Robotics Lawn mowers.
I'm an instructional technology specialist for Fairfax County Public Schools. I'm new to 3D printing and want to ramp up my skills to support our Tech Ed teachers who anticipate having a 3D printer this year. My past career experience is in network/security engineering & IT training (HS-college). But I'm fascinated with everything Maker (Arduino, electronics, 3D-Printing) and want to gain the base competencies to ignite interests amongst our students in STEM careers via Maker activities
I am a newbie at 3D printing. Could you please advise where I can start with.
I'm excited that I found this group! Looking forward to meeting everyone and discussing the technology. I work with 3d modeling and animation applications, but I have been very "obsessed" with 3D printing over the past couple months. Looking forward to learning more. Thanks for creating the group!
I am defiantly trying to stop by this Thursday. I might only have an hour or so but I want to at least see the space and your selection of toys. :-) I tried to join as a member on the website but got a 404 error. Are their any more project nights coming up to work on the space and setting up/building things?
Was that supposed to be a powDer 3D printer? What model? I'm so excited to find someone that has one! I'll try to drop by one Thursday.
cool! I would like to see the 3D printed parts, do you have photos to upload?
For now I'm starting with a quadcopter kit from 3D-Robotics, but I would like to design my own in the future, once I acquire more confidence in the field
