D. Haskins & J. Condon: Building & Managing Partnerships & Strategic Alliances

  • Aug 22, 2013 · 6:00 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

Establishing the right partnerships is the smart and proven way for a company to boost the bottom line and gain competitive advantage. Creating these effective alliances is not always so easy. They are difficult to plan, execute and maintain over time; and if partnerships/alliances go wrong, they can lead to frustration, financial losses, and even litigation.

Speakers: Dede Haskins & Jim Condon

Dede Haskins and Jim Condon will be speaking on Partners and Suppliers from an early and growth stage company's perspective. This talk is a primer on the different types of partner and supplier relationships (Service Providers, Technology Vendors (Business), Technology Supplier (Product or Service), Technology Partnerships, Strategic Partnerships, and International Partnerships) and their benefits. Dede will give tips and hints on how to manage these relationships. Jim will  analyze the business/financial models for partnerships and their impact on the business. Jim will also explain the approach of large companies partnering with smaller companies.

Dede Haskins is an experienced, award winning senior executive and a recognized leader in the technology community, with a successful 20+ year career history with six of Northern Virginia’s fastest growing companies (Cigital, Proxicom, Legent, MAXM, XMCO, and RCI). Dede has been a Vice President of DC’s first mega web development agency, Proxicom, founded by one of DC’s legendary startup founders, Raul Fernandez. She founded NewVision Health, and is an active mentor for the Founder Institute. She’s also the past chair of The Women in Technology Education Foundation. Follow her at @DedeAtNVH

Jim Condon is a partner at TechCXO (a professional services firm that provides experienced, C-Suite professionals to deliver strategic and functional consulting services for technology companies). Mr. Condon has more than 25 years of broad based executive experience in running existing companies, repairing troubled companies, and scaling start-ups over the course of a distinguished executive career with such companies as Geosteller (a leader in big-data geomatics), Payments Processing Incorporated (the industry leader in payment processing solutions), GetWellNeworks (the leader in interactive patient care solutions), EduCap (a major provider of student loans), SecureMethods (an advanced technology network security company), and CyberCash (the first publicly traded Internet Payments company).

Nice event with very knowledgable speakers. Also since some of the attendees did not know, I am a part-time blogger as well. Feel free to view my posts at and reach out if you have any suggestions.
