I think splitting everyone up by language worked very well, it made it easy to pair and also to share thoughts in downtime.

Good day of fun, and coders the world over should be entitled to a retreat day once a year. Whether the intent if the event is "process over product" or now, however, I hope that people won't be told to delete their code again. That is not a best practice, even if you start the same algorithm over with a new team 5 times from scratch in a day. Can't we please encourage people to save a copy of their work at each Kata to refer back to in the future?

I'm glad you liked it. Unfortunately we cannot change the rules for the Global Day event. However, there is no such rule for monthly event, you are welcome to take home everything you created during that session.

I think I found and joined this group just in time! Looking forward to this. Anything I should know as a first-time participant in this group/event (other than to bring a love of TDD, pairing, and learning?)

Nope, just bring a laptop and be ready to both learn from your partner and teach! :)

This sounds like fun. I will have to leave at 3pm for another event.

It will be challenging since these types of events require close communication. But we can try to work you in into one of the session if someone is looking for extra challenge...

Can I participate from a plane...as I am flying to DC?

Sadly, I have had a family obligation pop up which conflicts with this. I was really looking forward to this, too. :-(
