About the books we will read:
Barbara Bradlee Hagerty's Fingerprints of God: The Search for the Science of Spirituality (2009), Brian McLaren’s A New Kind of Christianity: Ten Questions that are transforming the Faith (2010), Donald Miller’s A Million Miles in a Thousand Years: What I learned while editing my Life (2009), Krista Tippett’s Einstein’s God: Conversations about Science and the Human Spirit (2010); Krista Tippett’s Speaking of Faith: Why Religion Matters—and how to talk about it (2002), and Jim Wallis’ Rediscovering Values: On Wall Street, Main Street, and Your Street: A Moral Compass for the New Economy (2009).
These books tackle a range of topics, including spirituality & science, faith & justice, the possible relevance of Jesus’ teaching today, and spiritual autobiography.
About the Coordinator Glenn Zuber:
I'm an occasional college instructor who's taught classes at Indiana University--Bloomington, Fordham University, and Manhattan College (in NYC), worked in a soup kitchen in New Brunswick, NJ, and have served as a minister in rural and urban settings. I started this group because I think people have a lot of questions about faith & spirituality that never get addressed or even heard, and this is a great, casual way to address that gap. If there's enough interest, we can keep scheduling speakers into 2011.
