I started backpacking after ages this year and it's been so good. My longest mileage is 18 a day. I have not yet backpacked in the cold weather this would be my second in the fall.
Most resent was ti wolf gap with the Washington Backpackers. Easy trip for backpacking 101.
My tent is Marmot 3season 2person, sleeping bag and pad BigAgnes 0degree and pack is Dauetuer 65ltr. Not light weight total of 9lb
Simply put, I would like to travel light and long distance. Honestly I am as eager to transit to that overnight. However it is a slow and dedicated process. I have been backpacking at least twice a month to build my endurance and strength. But I need more to do on moving to light packing so I can travel more and enjoy the outdoors more.
I learn about the group way back when I used to hike with the mid atlantick from falls I hike with. But I got to learn more after I joined the WB and started backpacking more often.
I am Mignote call me Mimi as does everybody. I love the outdoors and I will try to go out any chance I got.
I have had very good learning curve and enjoyed the outdoors with great trips from DC UL. The well organized trips, the knowledgeable leaders and members that are willing to share every bit of knowledge has made my transition from day Hicking to backpacking more comfortable and smooth. DC UL allows you to grow into seasoned backpacker through the mentoring and help from its leaders and members. I appreciate all the help and assistance given to me by everyone. DC UL is where you would find a family beyond home with same interest and that allows you share, brag and teach about your ultralight backpacking experience.
