Join Amnesty International members and leaders from throughout the Mid-Atlantic region in Washington, DC on November 2-3 for this year's Regional Conference: The Power of US! Last fall, we came together to build connections and develop ourselves as leaders, and over the next few months we helped win major victories for human rights. We helped repeal the death penalty in Maryland; we helped reauthorize the Violence Against Women Act; we helped pass the world's first Arms Trade Treaty! It's our commitment to the indivisibility of human rights, to solidarity across borders, and to the dignity of all people that makes us strong.
We still have work to do. As activists in places like Russia and around the world face brutal crackdowns, as drone strikes cross legal boundaries and kill civilians, and as people right here in our own communities face profiling and other grave human rights abuses, we need a strong movement now more than ever. Join us for workshops and panels that explore the intersections between human rights issues from the local to the global, and we'll all come away from this year's conference stronger organizers than ever.
