We will return to the City of Brotherly Love and taste the various ethnic cuisines of the city. In addition, we will get to see various neighborhoods of the city that are outside of the typical tourist districts.
Lunch will begin in West Philadelphia in the Cedar Fork neighborhood on Baltimore Avenue. Baltimore Avenue is well known for its diverse restaurants, shops, and ethnic cuisines. The Dock Street Brewing Company is known as the first microbrewery in Philadelphia and has received many awards for creating some of the best craft beer in the city. The brewery is also known for serving some of the best pizza in the city. It serves unique varieties of pizza such as Fig Jam, Margherita, and several vegetarian-type pizzas. They also serve various salads, wraps, calzones, and other food items. Prices range from $5 - $20.
We will then travel to Center City to visit Independence Hall and eat dessert at Bonte’ Wafflerie and Café. This unique café serves items such as Belgian sugar waffles, waffle and ice cream, various types of coffee and sandwiches. The prices of their food items range from $2 to $8. We will travel to the Italian Market in South Philadelphia and eat authentic Italian cuisine at Ralph’s Italian Restaurant, which is known as the oldest Italian restaurant in the United States. This fifth-generation owned restaurant opened in 1900 and has been serving some of the best Italian food in the country. The restaurant has also served many famous names such as Theodore Roosevelt, Lena Horne, Sammy Davis, Jr., Dom Deluise, and many others. Prices range from $5 to over $25.
Important Note: For those that want to attend the meetup but desire to eat a different cuisine, there are other restaurant options in these neighborhoods, as you are free to eat wherever you choose.

-We will meet at Union Station at 8:00AM. We can all meet in front of the Starbucks near the Amtrak gates.
-We will be traveling to Philadelphia through the MegaBus service. Tickets can be purchased online at www.megabus.com ($30 - $40 average for round trip).
-When entering website, schedule bus trip for 8:45AM - 12:00PM (Depart to Philadelphia), and schedule the return trip for 9:20PM - 12:20AM (Return to DC). The date of the trip is Saturday, February 22, 2014. Please be sure to enter information correctly, as MegaBus does not refund tickets; however, they will allow you to reschedule trip 24 hours prior to the scheduled trip date.
-Union Station is located at 50 Massachusetts Avenue, NE Washington, DC. Union Station is also Metro accessible on the Red Line at the Union Station Metro Station. Parking at Union Station is available at their parking garage; however, the maximum cost is $22.00 for one day parking.
