Dust off your bike and join us for a nice easy ride and some beer this Sunday!

Enjoy a nice day outside in the gorgeous weather and a great bike ride.  Meet at the laundromat and take Four Mile Run Trail East to the Mount Vernon Trail. Then take the Mount Vernon Trail South into Old Town Alexandria.

This should be a nice easy ride with a stop at Daniel O'Connell's Bar and Restaurant for a Beer, Wine, Soda, Water, Food, etc. Once finished, we'll take the same route back to the Laundromat.

WHAT TO BRING:  Bike, helmet, ID, and money/credit cards for O'Connell's.

WHAT: The Four Mile Run Trail traverses the Four Mile Run stream valley and has many twists and turns, not to mention steep sections (mercifully short). In places, the trail more or less parallels the W&OD Trail, connecting to it in several places. Four Mile Run takes off from Bluemont Junction Park and heads to the Mount Vernon Trail where the latter meets the southern edge of Ronald Reagan National Airport and the Potomac River. The trail is wooded and crosses creek in numerous places. This will be a beginners level ride, about 7 miles total, but all levels are free to join. The bike path is paved.

TIME:  Please arrive by 10:45 AM.  This ride starts promptly at 11:00 AM so please be on time. If you are running late please contact the organizer Todd at[masked] directly to figure out how to arrange meeting up.

GEAR/DISCLAIMER: You are responsible for providing your own bike and helmet.  Helmets are required to participate in the ride. In addition all riders understand that they ride at their own risk and that the group leaders take no responsibility for rider's safety/injury.

RSVP:  Since this event is unpaid - make sure to only RSVP if you can attend!  Or, if you can't attend please update your RSVP to give someone else the chance.

To everyone that cancelled. We ended up doing a walking tour of Del Ray culminating in some excellent BBQ and frosty adult beverages. It pays to always have a contingency plan! See y'all next time!!

Would everyone prefer just to get together for lunch at the Pork Barrel BBQ in Del Ray?

Since its raining and I'm a beginner, I won't be riding today. I'll definitely be at the next one suitable for me. I'll text you also. Thanks!

Sorry, hate to drop out but my race bike (with thin tires) can't handle wet pavement and my hybrid bike is out of commission.

That is an awesome route! I wish I could make it, but being back on the Navajo Nation, I will have to do something similar back here in AZ!

Would it be ok if I ran the trail instead of biking? My bike won't be ready in time for this.

Sure! Might be easier if you borrowed a bike from someone through!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
