Intro to Dragon Boating

Come experience a beautiful morning and the ancient tradition of dragon boat racing on the Anacostia River, now one of the fastest growing modern sports in the world! What is dragon boating? It's a competitive sport where twenty paddlers work together as one to surge through the water toward the finish line, all in time to the rhythmic beat of the drummer.

The DC Dragons would like to invite you to one of their free offering free intro and technique classes for dragon boat racing!  You will learn basic stroke technique and timing from experienced paddlers who have raced in the US, Canada, and at the 2013 World Dragon Boat Racing Championships. No experience is necessary and after a quick warm-up, you'll get right on the water to learn how to paddle.

This unique, low-impact sport is a great workout for people of all ages and fitness levels.

Just a reminder to everyone to please follow Google Map's directions exactly. We're pretty far out of the way and we're dealing with construction on the road.

Just a friendly reminder: As usual, we have a long waitlist. If you change your mind about attending, please remove your name from the attendee list as soon as you can so that someone can take your spot. That said, Sunday looks beautiful so I hope we won't have many cancellations! Thanks!
