Easter Sunday Hike at Bull Run Park followed by trip to Paradise Springs Winery

If like me you do not have plans for Easter Sunday please come join me for a 6 mile hike at Bull Run Marina Park. As this trail is an out and back we will hike out about 3.0 miles and then turn around and head back to the marina. The trial is mostly through the woods with some beautiful views of the Occoquan River. It is a moderate hike with a few slightly difficult up hill sections, but nothing more then a 1/2 mile at a time.

To reach Bull Run Marina from Arlington/DC area you can take I-66 west, exit at Fairfax, continue south on Route 123 to Clifton Road, turn right on Clifton Road, then left on Henderson Road to a right turn on Old Yates Ford Road OR you can Mapquest directions at: http://www.nvrpa.org/park/bull_run_marina/content/hours_and_directions

This trail is part of the Bull Run/Occuquain Trail. See below link for a more detailed map of the area we will be hiking: http://www.patc.us/images/broc4.jpg

We will meet in the parking lot by the trailhead at 1:00pm and then head out for the hike.  The hike will take about 3 hours and afterwards we will head over to Paradise Springs Winery, which is about a 10 minute ride from the park. Depending on the weather we will either get a spot outside on the grass or inside at a table inside. Since this is easter please bring a dish with you so that we can do an potluck early dinner while there.  Those that are interested can do a wine tasting or just grab a glass or bottle of wine to share. Info on the winery is at http://www.paradisespringswinery.com/

Looking forward to seeing you all there.

Ed, whom I don't know yet, you said you're driving from Clarendon? Can I catch a ride from you? I can stand at Rt. 50 and wave a flag around so you can find me.
    Cheers,

I would love to join you but I would need to catch a ride. Is anyone leaving from DC or nearby suburb I could bike or metro to? Please let me know!
