For all those adults (men and women 18 years or older) interested in playing floor hockey in the DC, VA, MD area. You do not need to know how to skate (we play on gym floor with sneakers). You do not need full hockey equipment (just a simple floor hockey stick and shin pads). You just need to want to compete, get a good cardio workout and have fun. This is a great opportunity for those who love hockey and want to play the game in an affordable and feasible environment. This is also an excellent means to socialize with like hockey lovers.

Our fourth season season will be starting play early July 2011.

Here are the league specifics:  

1) The league will play on Sunday evenings from 6 pm - 9 pm  in DC.

2) It would be 4 on 4 co-ed hockey plus a goalie (due to the increased gym space) with at least one female on the floor at all times.

3) Games will consist of THREE 15 mins periods.

4) This will be anywhere from 9 to 12 total games per season(regular season + playoffs).

4) There will be dedicated referees and detailed stats unparalleled by any other league.  

5) Winning team will have prize options.

6) We are working on getting local restaurant/bars to help sponsor happy hour at discounted prices for us so we can socialize before or after games.

7) Games will be held in DC on Sidwell Friends Campus (off Wisconsin Ave) which is easily metro accessible.

8) There is a large FREE parking garage for those that prefer to drive. 

9) We also organize other social outings such as dinner, barbecues, brunches, other sports and social events.

Cost for a minimum nine game season will be about $800 per team. Usually a team has about 10 players (1 goalie, 2-3 female players, 6-7 male players). So the individual cost will be about $80 per player for 9-10 week season. So about $8 per game.

You can organize your own team or sign up as free agents and will be placed on a new free agent team or established team needing a player. As commissioner, I try to place invididuals according as to guaranteee best competition and parity in league.
