Free K-Cinema Screening & Social: My Paparotti (파파로티)

Join us at the KCC for a free K-Cinema screening and social featuring the hit 2013 comedy-drama My Paparotti (파파로티)!

Sang-jin (Han Suk-kyu) was once a promising young singer but is now a cynical high school music teacher after a medical condition ended his performance career. His ordinary life is suddenly rattled when a young gang thug is transferred to his program. Jang-ho (Lee Je-hoon) is a constant headache, but Sang-jin discovers the boy’s secret passion for singing and takes him under his wing. Just as Jang-ho develops a special bond with his mentor and romance blossoms with his classmate Sook-hee (Kang So-ra), his violent past threatens to tear it all away. Can Jang-ho find a way to fulfill his destiny as a world-class singer?

My Paparotti (2013) is based on the true story of Kim Ho-joong, who first appeared on the Korean TV show STARKING in 2009 and touched audiences with his beautiful voice despite growing up on the streets. Screened at the Shanghai International Film Festival, the Montreal World Film Festival, and the Korean Film Festival in Australia.

In Korean with English subtitles, 127 minutes.
