Jam Session at Bach2Rock

It's On! Another jam session at Bach2Rock. We will meet at 7PM on the 27th. Sam the drummer/instructor will join us for the first hour and then we will have free jam the rest of the night. Please bring 2 songs that you can teach the group. Happy Rockin! Eric

One of the fun songs some of us played on Wednesday was Gimme Some Lovin' by the Spencer Davis Group. After the session, I set out to practice it some more. In the process, I discovered something interesting. The Spencer Davis Group version is in G, but we played it in E. Why? I checked the Blues Brothers version and it's in E. So I'm guessing that version became a popular one with cover bands.

All, it was nice to meet/see you and to play with you. This was probably the most "off" I've ever been in a jam session, perhaps due to a hectic workweek, but I wanted to know that I appreciated playing with you and enjoyed your considerable talents. Eric, thanks as always for doing a wonderful job of organizing the meetup and for creating a very friendly atmosphere. Hope to see you all again at the next Bethesda Rockers meetup I can attend.

Hi Ben. Great to see you again. You sounded pretty goiod to me. It helped to have access to another room. Thanks to Ken and Maxwell for helping me work on a few things. Too many people in one room makes it tough sometimes. See you all next time.

I am a baby-boomer drummer. Not very accomplished but love to play. Is there still a need for a drummer for the jam session? Also, I prefer to rehearse songs ahead of time, so if there are some songs chosen already let me know.

Hi Mark. Drummers are always in demand. If we get enough people, we may split into two groups. Here are a few songs that were played last time:

let me finish: Locomotive breath, Kashmir, Who do you love, You & I, Knockin on Heaven's Door. I'm also working on Highway to Hell. They are all pretty rough for me but playing with other people helps a lot.

Thanks so much, Eric. Really appreciate it. I played music through Pa last time and I'm glad it was helpful. I can bring the cables plus iPhone again.

Hi Joe, thanks for update. It looks like we now have enough people to meet at Mark's place. I suggested the second or third Saturday in March. Also, I'll probably plan another B2R night in March. Have a good trip. I look forward to getting together with you soon. Eric

Here's my two (relatively) easy songs:
    - Locomotive Breath - Verse Em G D Em (move to B for "Headlong to his death part) Chorus G A B.
    - Highway to Hell - Verse - AAA and then D/F#,D/F#,G a couple of times and end on D A (end on an E as the prechorus)
chorus is AAAGD I'm also working:
    - Kashmir (use DADGAD tuning)
    - You & I (thanks Lisa) Kapo on the 5th fret
    - Romeo & Juliet (kapo on the 5th fret There are plenty of tabs and video lesson on Youtube for all of these songs. Hope this helps.
