Off-Season Slacklining

Mina
Hey everyone,

Thanks to all of you for your patience during the colder months when outdoor slacklining isn't so appealing. ;)

One of our members found out about a facility in Manassas, VA (http://climb-va.com/) that is slotted to open sometime in February that will supposedly have indoor lines. I have been checking the website periodically to see if they have an opening date and have tried to call several times. Unfortunately, I haven't reached a human being yet, so I'm not sure what the status is. If someone finds out, feel free to let the entire group know!

Also, *anyone* in the group can schedule a meetup. If you have a line and aren't bothered by the colder weather, post a meetup! We have members all over the Metro DC area so don't be shy about scheduling something in Virginia or Maryland.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact me.

All the best,

Mina

Update on Vertical Rock.....

The slackline will be up "sometimes" and as of now, there is no padding in place under the line. The employee I spoke to was pretty enthusiastic about having a group of slackliners come in at a scheduled time (so the line is guaranteed to be up). He reported that the interest in the line is minimal at this time and he'd love to drum up some interest.

I'll keep folks posted!

It's not quite off season now (in fact, the weather is perfect) but if anyone was interested in learning some tricklining, I know sportrock in sterling sets up their slackline on Thursdays between 8 and 10 (call to confirm), and sometimes sporadically throughout the week. It's a pretty short 1 inch line, and it's usually crowded, but if you're already climbing there, it's a good padded spot to learn tricks on the line.
