Sport Techies - our next meetup covers one of the hottest new technologies that is destined to revolutionize location-based marketing and services. Bluetooth Low Energy (BTE) including iBeacons are already being fitted in stadiums, and soon they'll be everywhere - sports bars, training fields and pretty much everywhere else...
This meetup is a collaborative event with the DC iBeacon Meetup Group!
NOTICE: If you are actively using iBeacons/BTE and would like to demo your product, make sure to contact us ([masked])

"Hey you in Section 405, want a better seat?" Using Proximity Beacons to Take Fan Engagement to the Next Level at Sporting Events
Proximity beacon technology (such as Apple's iBeacon) is about to revolutionize the in-game fan experience. Outside of simple notifications, beacons can be leveraged with existing in-game technologies to offer fans and season ticket holders relevant offers, promotions and access at the right place and the right time. Radius Networks and OneUp Sports, fresh off of a successful partnership with Georgetown University, are continuing to implement cutting-edge beacon use cases for sports teams and its fans. This presentation will discuss how proximity beacons are being used to unlock a tremendous experience for the fans at a game.
