PIANO RECITAL BY DR. ALESSANDRA GAROSI from ITALY
Pianist Alessandra GAROSI will perform music by Nino Rota, Frank Zappa, Heitor Villa-Lobos, Giorgio Gaslini and George Gershwin and show a video on the life and music by Italian composer Nino ROTA.

The program will continue with a twenty-minute video with special unpublished images of Italian music composer Nino ROTA’s life and musical career. Nino Rota's works became famous all over the world because of his fantastic adventure in Italian Cinema with Federico Fellini. There will be some musical excerpts from famous movie works, such as The Godfather, La Strada, Orchestra Rehearsal, I Vitelloni, 8 1/2, Amarcord and less famous films like “Il Treno Popolare” - the first work with Rota’s music.

ABOUT Dr. ALESSANDRA GAROSI
Alessandra GAROSI is a very versatile contemporary pianist. She was born in Siena has graduated in Music in Florence, and has trained in Italy, Australia, and the USA at Indiana University and presently lives in Tuscany. Working since 1985, GAROSI has performed in three continents, often with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the European Union and several international music managements. She also performed for international radio broadcasts aired by RAI 1, RAI 2 and RAI3, Channel Five (The Netherlands), and Australia's 2MBS/FM.
She has been involved in music festivals and music theaters both as a chamber member and soloist in Latin America, European , and Australian cities. Despite her classical training, Alessandra has always been interested in popular, folk and cross-over music. She has described herself as "a classical musician with a jazz soul".
