Through looking up the Italian Cultural Center in Bethesda, MD

What is your favorite Italian book/author, Italian film, Italian song/musician, Italian food, Italian city?

Book/Author, Purgatorio by Dante Alighieri. Italian film, I Vitelloni. Italian musician, Jovanotti. Italian food, Ragu Bolognese. Italian city, Bologna

How long have you been interested in the Italian Language and why; at what level do you speak Italian; are there any other languages you speak or have an interest in?

I've been interested in Italian since I discovered Dante in translation in middle school; I was blown away by it and immediately wanted to learn to read it in the original Italian. That lead to me studying it in both high-school and undergraduate. I would consider myself a fluent speaker of Italian. I've studied both Latin and Greek, but Latin far more extensively of the two.

Introduction

My name's John; I'm a DC resident who majored in Italian at the University of Michigan, and spent a year studying abroad in Bologna. Italian language and culture have been long-time passions of mine, and it's great to know a like-minded group exists!
