I heard of the group through a friend, who's already a member.
I don't know many Italian musicians, aside from the big names professors have you listen to in class, so I have listened to a lot of Gianna Nannini and Jovanotti. I love gnocchi, and had a friend's mom who grew up in Italy teach me how to make it. Rome is one of my favorite cities in Italy. I love the history, the architecture, and the business of it all. I also loved Lucca.
I have been interested in Italian since I studied abroad in Rome, Italy a few years ago. I came back and studied Italian for about 2 years, so at one time, I was fairly good. It's been a few years since I've spoken it with any regularity, so I've forgotten a lot. I'd love to start using it again to keep from forgetting any more. I also have a basic level of Spanish, and am currently learning Arabic. I really enjoy learning new languages.
I moved to DC about a year ago and am looking for fun ways to meet people around the city. I spent some time in Italy was a student in college, and would love to connect with people who share an interest in the language and culture.
