Whether you need to burn some calories from Thanksgiving dinner or need a break from Black Friday shopping, join us for a new adventure at Fort Harrison State Park. Ft. Ben offers lots of great trails that range from easy to rugged. This park is nice because it's so close to downtown, yet feels so far away from the city!
For this hike, we'll meet at the Lawrence Creek trail head parking lot. The trail has recently been expanded to 3.7 miles and is moderately rugged as it is also a mountain bike trail. Our group hasn't officially done this trail since the new expansion, but I expect this hike to be about 2-2.5 hours, depending how how many breaks we take along the way.
If it is pouring rain, consider this event to be canceled. Entrance to the park is $5/vehicle. 2014 annual pass for DNR State Parks & Reservoirs are here! They are only $40 and are good from Jan 1st - Dec 31st.
Trail map is available online.
