MLK hike at Ft Ben

Ft. Ben offers lots of great trails that range from easy to rugged. This park is nice because it's so close to downtown, yet feels so far away from the city!

For this hike - we'll meet at the trail head of the Schoen Creek trail, which is near the parking lot by the visitor's center. This trail is 3 miles long and moderately rugged as it's also used as a mountain bike trail. We'll stop for breaks along the way. I expect this hike to last about 90 minutes.

If it is pouring rain, consider this event to be canceled. Entrance to the park is $5/vehicle. 2014 annual passes for DNR State Parks & Reservoirs are now available. They are only $40 and are good from Jan 1st - Dec 31st.

Trail map is available online.

We had a great afternoon for hiking with sunshine for part of the hike and the trails were in decent condition. Loved watching Haley, Terrence and Linus romp and play. Rambo was tired after the walk, Willow not so much, but the hike was good exercise for all of our family.

So glad to hear that! I know 14 is senior but Yorkies are young at heart. I hope he gets fully recovers and can join us some time. I know Daisy would enjoy seeing him!

We had an awesome group of hikers and explored 3 miles of trails. It was a beautiful winter's day.
