San Marcos White Water Skill Building
The San Marcus River is 72 degrees and a steady flow year round making it a perfect training ground for the first time whitewater paddler. We will spend two days on the river.
The first day will be in the city water park that features three man made "drops" where you can learn the basics of Whitewater in a controlled setting. Day two we will take a run down the river using the skills from day one. In addition we will learn to read the river, scout rapids and choose portage.
Classes are held on a Monday and Tuesday to avoid the weekend crowds
Cost: $250, class only. Students responsible for lodging. There are lots of hotels available and camping. More info to come on this.
