Meetup Description: If you are experiencing writer?s block you must come and hear Ramona Tipton?s story. This prolific author has been able to write, publish and successfully promote 6 books in 4 years. She?ll share tips with you on how to write a press release and let you know when you should announce the news of the release of your book. She?ll also give a peak at her secrets on the pitfalls of setting yourself up as a self published author and why it is important to sign on with a publisher or even start your own publishing company. Experience can be the best teacher. You?ll have the opportunity to learn these special tips at the feet of a successful local author. She?ll also share how to organize your book while writing it and how to overcome situations that appear to keep you from moving forward. Ramona believes that we all have the same opportunity to create an electric buzz about our book that will result in large sales if we have a strong determination to succeed and if we truly believe in our own work. Ramona's new children's book should be ready for printing at the end of May or early June. This is one presentation you don?t want to miss!
RonJon, local printer and publisher, recently merged with Alpha Graphics to provide a wider variety of services to writers and authors. Paul Welch, Self Publishing and Book Marketing Representative, will present the second half of our program. This company has recently begun offering a package that includes a level of participation in your book promotion. Included in their new website will be an online bookstore. You may register your book for available online purchases through this new publishing program. Paul will explain their new marketing plan and show how it can help generate sales for your book(s). Their targeted goal is to create direct sales for your book through their aggressive marketing campaign. RonJon/Alpha Graphics will be investing heavily in Online and Bulk Mail Advertisement regarding their new website and online bookstore. Paul will be able to answer your questions and provide you with more information on either or both of these new services at this meeting.
Offering this new service gives you an option for not having to do the entire process of book promotion after publishing by yourself. It may be the answer for many of you that do not mind doing part of the work of promoting your book but may need a little help in getting it started. They remain a family owned business newly relocated in Carrollton, have been in business for about 20 years and have printed books for several of our authors in the recent past. Come and listen to what they have to offer and make up your own mind.
