South side Jazz Jam @ Classic Cup Cafe

Come on down to the south side for tasty coffee, delicious dinner, and some JAM! This jam will be exactly like our Sunday Jams, bring your Real books (I and II), your instrument of choice, and plan to have some fun. All levels welcome. The venue is open so people will be able to come in and hear us play, so even if you don't make music, but appreciate it come out and hang. They have food, coffee, free WiFi, and I mentioned to the owner that everyone who plays would at least buy a cup of coffee or something, or they have real food, so come early and eat before you play. They have 0, as in zero, equipment that we can use, except for chairs, so be as self contained as possible. There will be a drummer willing to share his set. Money from tips will be split with anyone who plays. Anyways, please RSVP before the day of, so I can have the proper setup, give the venue a head count, and I am extremely excited!

PS PS - If you have a tenor player, play the lower part.

PS - Parts are written divisi. You guys can decide who plays upper and lower parts. If only one note, play unison. If there is only one guitar they can play the vibes/piano part.

New tune added to FILES. Private Eye. Score plus parts for horns (concert pitch, Eb, Bb-tenor, Bb-trumpet), vibes/piano, guitar, bass, drums. Performance notes on last page of score.

MP3 included to hear what it sounds like (sort of...)

Hope you guys enjoy it! Feedback welcomed.

I can't be there but would you guys be willing to try out an original tune for me? I should have a draft ready by Friday. I'll post it in the FILES section. Arranged for two horns + rhythm section. Any chance there is a vibes player? I wish...

    Alan - it's a 15/8 afro-cuban groove (just kidding, bud!)
