Darn. I think I missed it. What about the Friday night jam sessions? How do I sign up for that?

If you registered for the class, remember tonight is the first session. Bring your Real Books. Any other music will come from the director.

7pm, room B150. See you there!

Call the school on Monday and see if there is an exception process for late enrollment. You might also contact the director of this combo, Kevin McNerney. Email - kmcnerney [at] verizon [dot] net

The next session for all jazz ensembles starts with the fall 2014 semester beginning week of Aug 25. This combo will meet on Thursdays at 7pm.

All of the jazz ensemble courses are 1 hr credit. Cost is $39/hr. Quite a bargain!

looks like I have missed the cutoff date to register... will there be another course for Summer II? And I'm gonna keep looking, I have probably just missed it, but any idea on the cost of the course? Thanks!

Robert - Besides playing tunes there is opportunity to learn theory in this combo course. Although theory is not the focus of this class, you can ask all the questions you want. The director of the combo is a great guy and knows his stuff.

Collin has a really good jazz program including theory and improv, multiple groups from combo to big band and private instruction. I've been playing in this combo for 11 yrs and have played in two other combos, Latin jazz ensemble, and big band. Tons of fun!

Hey Gordon, Is this class similar in structure to the Friday night jams? Or is there any instruction involved? The jams are fun and I can't wait to do more, but I have lost all the theory knowledge I used to have and am looking for resources to help gain it back! Haha

If not this class, does CC have any good theory courses you know of?
