Screen-Free Week 5/5 To 5/11

Screen-Free Week (formerly TV Turnoff Week):

MAY 5/5 To 5/11

I've decided to take up the challenge.

The aim of Screen Free/TV Turn-off week is to reduce the amount of television Americans watch and to focus on activities that watching television displaces like reading, creativity, productivity and healthy physical activity.

How is everyone holding up on this week? Today will be the real challenge bc the kids are out of school. I deactivated my Facebook on Monday & I'm having withdrawals hahaha They are having a free family Zumba class today at the Tony Shotwell Center in Grand Prairie if anyone wants to go

I'm wondering does this include all electronics such as cell phones,iPods,tablets,etc...? Or is it strictly the television for us?

The first day was tough for both of us. So, I decided to restrict us to the recommended 2 hours of TV a day, including all electronics for my son to 2 hours a day. I still have to work at home on my computer. I'm staying off Facebook this week. Good luck. Children under 2 should never watch TV and others only one to two hours and day. The goal is to make it easier to set these limits after this week, but we are starting now.

Various other website have the Screen Free Week as May 5-11. So, I have edited this event. I received the April dates from a school physical education specialist. I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
