Antique Planes, Trains and Automobiles (Okay - no trains)

This location is shown only to members

A great opportunity here folks. A strobist photo shoot at the Aero Country Airport - T31 - A privately owned public use airport located between Frisco and McKinney in the North Dallas Texas Metroplex. A friend of mine has his WWII T-6 there and offered up his hanger (after I asked), aircraft and those of his neighbors.

We will have access to a couple of hangars, with a ton of east facing ramp space, a show stopping Stearman, Harvard, Husky and Bonanza, one ugly, unpainted T-6 and another nicer looking one, and a Bell 47 helicopter and possibly a polished P-51 Mustang. As if the aircraft weren't enough we'll have access to a collection of classic cars.

I will work on getting several models, male and female, make-up artists and hair stylists for this shoot. Pin-up, grunge, nose-art style photography are all possible. If you know any of the above, please have them contact me. If you have any antique aviation or motorcar clothing or other period props, please contact me.

If models ain't your thing the cars and aircraft should be an interesting lighting challenge.

Please remember to label all your gear, the security of your equipment is solely your responsibility.

Additional details as they become available.

This meetup will start at 1pm and go until we're done - most likely at dusk.

I've had 14 models and a couple of MUAs respond to my casting call in less than 24 hours. Should be interesting.

I uploaded a few images from our pre-shoot visit ~ You can view them in the Photos section. This is a rare opportunity to shoot with some vintage war-birds and classic/antique automobiles!

What a great event. A merging of industry professionals at one event to get you the experience and practice you need. What better place to work out the kinks in your style? You'll learn a great deal about lighting but using off the camera flashes in particular
