Free concert and fireworks at Panther Pavilion on the Trinity River in Fort Worth. Anyone with a non-motorized boat or tube can join in the fun. Put in at Trinity Park, (above or below the 3 drops, your choice), then paddle down the river to the concert stage. Bands start playing at 6:45 with Fireworks at 9:30. There is food and drink available for sale on the shore at the concert area. Bring lights for your boat for the return paddle. At least one bright white light that can be seen 360 degrees. There is no motorized traffic on this part of the river and, except for the drops, it is all flatwater.
There are boats SUPs and tubes available for rent at the concert site, but not at the suggested put in for this meetup, and usually you have to turn them in before the fireworks.
There is parking available in Trinity Park right across from the Double Drop, which is the take out, and the suggested put in for those who do not wish to run the drops. Those who wish to run the drops should put in at the handicapped parking area right above the first drop, which is approx a quarter mile further south in Trinity Park. (I usually enter the park off of University just north of I30, then drop my boat and gear near the handicapped parking by the first drop. Then I park my vehicle in the parking area near the last drop, known as the double drop, and walk back to the boat to start my paddle.)
The Headliner Band for July 3 is Eleven Hundred Springs.
