STUDY GROUPS: Forming PRIVATE Groups for Permaculture, Living-Off-Grid, Others

Lets form private, NON MEETUP groups for Permaculture, Living-Off-Grid, Hunt County Ecovillage, or more. We can plan to get together as often as we wish to explore subjects we need and/or want to know more about. I know free places to meet around Greenville but maybe even further east or west if interest is there.

PERMACULTURE: Permaculture is pretty much a lifetime study group in itself so lets form a group that goes into Permaculture in depth! Knowledge of starting a food forest, drought-proofing land, growing perennial foods instead of annuals as well as “stacking and packing” food crops into small spaces will benefit anyone, even those of us who think we already “know it all.”

LIVING-OFF-GRID: Most of us would love to say good-bye to utility bills forever. It’s really not that difficult but you have to make it happen yourself with both knowledge and action. Some of it can be done with group buying like an energy co-op that buys together to save money--or maybe with group “barn-raising” type actions. How about the Solar-Panel-of-the-Month Co-op or slapping some cement on wire forms to store rainwater cheaply and safely? A group can make living-off-grid a reality rather than a dream.

Anything else you want a group for???

I am starting an ECOVILLAGE group later in August for the Hunt County land I am buying.

FYI: All organizers pay meetup $144 annually for the “privilege” of having these groups. Frankly, that gets old and so does the time spent putting these meetup events on the internet. Private groups would be better.

Hello. I am incredibly interested in what y'all are doing, but I've been unable to attend anything so far because of needed help with family here in Fort Worth. Please include me if you do start a private group. I will be able to get away sometime.

You have a valid point about the cash and time needed to organize these meetups. I recommend bringing a donation jar to assist with this. I know I wouldn't bat an eyelash about kicking in a financial and moral support. Thks for all your work, Terry

Thanks. I think it is more time than money. I am not giving up on meetup, though, just think it would be easier to be in private groups who share that work where I live.

Thank you, Terry. I appreciate all the time, money and effort you put forth to hold up powerful community-building and sustaining ideas and organize meetings to further the opportunities for folks to sneak-a-peek or go way beyond if so-choosing.
