Definition of Done

One of the most fundamental concepts of Scrum involves the word "expectations". Work stalls all the time because we don't have level expectations on when we can ship it and move on to the next task. Let's gather for an interactive session discussing Definition of Done and how leveling expectation on our teams can remove many impediments before they begin.

Chris Murman is an Agile Coach and Project Manager for Bottle Rocket Apps, a digital agency with over 200 apps in both Android and iOS App Stores (including 4 iOS Hall of Fame awards). I think Chris did an excellent job last night. He gave a great overall explanation of a very difficult and in-depth topic. Like all things Scrum, DoD is easy to read about and understand, but difficult to put into practice so that it is effective. One part that I'm glad Chris touched on, is Definition of Ready. I think this is a great follow-up topic for a MeetUp.

Can we request any topic for future meeting?

If so, then I would like to ask for a retro meeting.
It's by far the most under utilized and under appreciated meeting. Team members dread to go these meetings. Every ScrumMaster has their own technique on how they overcame this and still there is always room to grow. A retro meeting please? :)

Given the date 4/15 - let's also discuss filing US tax extensions - as a possible acceptance criteria for "have you done your taxes?"

Its a very interesting topic and the challenge I have seen is the definition of done changes as you start lagging behind in delivery :)

This should be an interesting topic. I would love hear from you all!

Linda, I hate talking for long stretches so I will try to make the session as interactive as possible. We'll help each other through this subject and leave more educated as a whole! :)

Will this be a presentation format?

    April 2, 2014

    • Lance D.

Likely be a quick presentation followed on by questions and discussions.
