An Evening with Ward Cunningham

The History and Future of Wiki in Agile Collaboration

Join us as we host another Agile Manifesto Author in our quarterly industry leader meeting format. He will be joining us from Skype as he was not available for a live visit here in Dallas.

Ward reflects on the strengths and weaknesses of wiki for organizing people and their work. He will demonstrate specific features of his new wiki and discuss why now is a good time to improve wiki. See also: http://wardcunningham.github.com

Ward is well known for his contributions to the developing practice of object-oriented programming, the variation called Extreme Programming, and the communities supported by his WikiWikiWeb. Ward hosts the AgileManifesto.org. He is a founder of the Hillside Group and there created the Pattern Languages of Programs conferences which continues to be held all over the word.

Excellent, it was interesting to see a creator in good humor.

Enjoyed the presentation and the opportunity to hear what he has been working on lately. Very thought provoking stuff!

Being a developer, I appreciate the tech-related talks. I spent the next day looking at all of Ward's videos on the project to make sure my brain could comprehend what he's doing. Wish I would have heard more about his thoughts on other possible implications/applications of his tech in the future... I guess I should have asked him that. lol

This was my first meetup with DFWScrum. I thought Ward's discussion was a little hard to follow at times. Wasn't sure where he was going but he tied the ideas together.

It was good, but not what I expected. It was much more technical and about his latest project, instead of having to do with process.

Very cool to hear from one of the innovators of Agile, Wiki, and open source. Really enjoyed the presentation of where Wiki is headed and the question and answer session afterwards. Great job by the organizers, too!!

Ward spoke on an interesting topic and I enjoyed it, but I feel he filled 45 minutes with 20 minutes of interesting.

I thought it was great to have Ward's time and of course give some deep down development overview of his new Wiki and idea on the federated Wiki. It's always a pleasure to have an Agile Manifesto Author regardless of topic to give a unique perspective of that day in Snow Bird.
