The year has come and gone, I feel like it was only yesterday that we met in January to decide what was going well / not going well for our group. In a sense, our group wanted more collaboration on subjects, more dialogue and less "speaker".
I think we had a ton of great talks this year and appreciate everyone's participation. November 19 will be our last meeting for 2013. We might plan a get together in December, but not a formal session. Please start thinking of ways we can improve for 2014 and we will do everything we can to make our group even better when we kick off a new season in January of 2014.
For 2013, we had some great peer reviews of our sessions which indicate we are anywhere between 4.5-5 stars on average for each MeetUp. That is unbelievable and I want to say a huge THANK YOU to Improving Enterprises for providing us a great space and great food. It allows us to focus on learning and not "where are we going to meet and what are we going to eat."
Our group has grown substantially and is easily one of the larger Scrum groups in the country, it is only successful because of your engagement and guidance. So THANK YOU too! We have over 1,400 members and average about[masked] people per MeetUp. When we first started, we were happy to see 15-20 :)
We hope to see you on November 19 where we will discuss using Scrum in other areas (not just IT). In addition, we will be giving away some spots in Mike Cohn's upcoming CSM/CSPO classes in January. His classes fill up very quickly, so be sure you get enrolled now for the early bird discount.
Have a great day!
Allison, Gary, and Lance
