DIYbio SD Reboot!

Good morning fellow scientists! This meetup group has languished for a while; I'd like to get together and talk shop. We may not be ready for a hackerspace or any major equipment investments, but a number of the members of the group have expressed interest in just getting together to talk. Let's start with that. Please suggest a place and/or time that might work better than the one I proposed if you are interested but can't make it this Saturday. (The Starbucks I chose is on 5th and Robinson in Hillcrest, which seems like a central location.)

Well, there's always Lestat's (either the one on Adams or perhaps the one on Park)...and the Android Developer's Group (which I'm part of) did meet at Ashord University. They provided a room for our NDK presentation by Chris DuPuy from ARM. Though, seeing as this is something informal, it might be best to go with your coffeeshop idea...

Brett, June, and I got together and brainstormed next steps to get this group off the ground. We intend to set up a rudimentary lab in my garage for the next Meetup, at which time we hope to demo several classic experiments in Synthetic Biology.
