Bummed I couldn't make it. Anyone want to post a few of the highlights?

Sorry I couldn't make the meeting. It was a bummer that I couldn't be there to help spread public understanding of biology. Please forward the notes regarding a biospace to my email address at:

    Thx

As far as the time change, please let me know if this doesn't work. We can switch back to 1pm, but you'll only meet half of the dynamic duo responsible for getting us 6000 sqft of lab space rent-free to open up the community lab.

Sorry I had to change the time/place. Coco's has a big table in front for ~10 people, but there's also a room in the back that seats up to 30 people. Fortunately, 3pm is pretty slow for Coco's so I think this will work out.

Here's a map of the building and nearby parking:

Unfortunately the doors are locked on the weekends, so I'll have to run downstairs and let you in. It's not a big deal, just send me a text. My cell is[masked]

I may be traveling for work on Sun afternoon, but if I'm here I'd love to join you guys!

That should work, I'll double-check. And does La Jolla work? It's close to lunch - do people care about food? I'll suggest Coco's (Nobel/Regents) or I can reserve us a small conference room at UCSD. You don't need parking permits on Sat+Sun.

Hey Carlo do you propose a place to meet? I will set the date tentative to November 18th... say 1pm?

    November 9, 2012

  • Carlo Q.

Can you guys meet next weekend (Nov 17 or 18) to talk about the biospace? There's been some people trying to start a space like this, and they've already done a lot of the preliminary (and tedious) crap - like incorporating a 501c. Although SD is big enough for two biospaces, it's probably more advantageous if we join forces (or, at worst, learn from each other's mistakes!).

Next weekend or the date you put up? Either sunday works for me.

if there is a group already working on it, I don't see any reason not to piggyback. That weekend is fine for me. If you guys are up for it we can do Pizza Port after the tour of the Genentech facility on 11/10/12

  • Carlo Q.

Uh, my mistake. I meant "next next" weekend LOL! Does the 18th work for most everyone else?

I might have a lead on some lab space in Carlsbad. I'll let you all know as this moves along. When we do have lab space I should have some equipment to donate from our facility.

Okay the first thing we need to do is establish a 501c non profit corporation so people can right off expenses, then contact universities and labs letting them know of our existence. So we can get used or outdated equipment.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
