Stanford is just feeling its way into internet courses, and they have a couple of 10,000+ person courses for credit in California.

Free on the web they have a number of good looking computer and math courses. I particularly like the fact that they retain my generation's sort of electrical engineering atitude toward computation. Typical is http://scpd.stanford....

For the purposes of DIYbio, there's a ver-ree interesting phaarmacology-oriented genomics course:

Enjoy!

PS: Reminder: the granddaddy of online goodstuff is the MIT site http://ocw.mit.edu/in...

Horrors! I just went back to register myself for the Stanford course -- and they want $1,300 to "audit" it. Funny, the last course of theirs I took was free. Stay tuned.

The MIT site is still free and open though. (They'll send you a begging e-mail every couple of months once you've taken a course or two of theirs.)

Appologies for posting the Stanford thing too quickly. But it's still a site worth prowling around.
