Intro to the LA Startup Community: Focus on Female Founders

Let's meet at this free class. It's an orientation to help you get acquainted with the exciting world of tech in LA. In this special Women's edition, female founders will be showcased and along with key events/meetups to attend. In edition to covering the basics, we will talk about VCs, blogs, hot issues, and other resources you should know about. The class will be led by the co-founder of our meetup.

About the Instructor:

Tara Brown is an accomplished tech entrepreneur, educator and opinion writer. She is the Technical Director at UC Irvine and the Co-founder and Executive Director of LA Makerspace, a non-profit community space for makers and tinkerers of all ages to create and collabotrate. She also runs Represent.LA, an open-source map of LA tech startups and DIY Girls, a group for women who want to hack on software and hardware projets. She previously worked at Microsoft and regularly blogs about women in technology.
