Interested in learning to develop an iPhone app? We have a group for that!
Our first meeting will be to discuss a plan to learn Objective-C/iOS app development in a supportive environment. The learning environment will be casual and the goal is to develop our own apps!
Course: Objective-C / iOS Development (for Ladies)
Date/Time/Place: Sunday, Sept, 8 2013 at 4pm at Stories coffee shop in Echo Park. Look for Gloria and Meet in the patio.
Why: The initial meeting's purpose is to discuss a time/place that works for the majority of the women interested in learning to develop an app and also to help install software.
Learning environment: casual - move at your own pace.
Type of participant: motivated beginner - advanced
What to bring: Apple laptop
We're a group of women interested in finding out if there are other women out there willing to go through the free podcast series on iOS development published by Stanford U on iTunes (or any other web course that you think we should take a look at).
The idea is that we meet once a week or once every two weeks and go over exercises and materials from the course. If we could go over 3 lectures a week, we could get through the course in 7-8 weeks and develop our own apps!
You'll need to create a free developer account on the Apple web site, and download XCode in advance. The link to download XCode is here:
We can help you with this at the first Meetup.
The contents of the following course is recommended as a prerequisite:
P.S.- If you're an iOS developer willing to sprinkle us with your pearls of wisdom we would gladly invite your advice and know-how!!!
