Learn some new woodworking skills for the new year!
The Knowhow Shop (www.knowhowshopla.com) has invited us to an introductory weekend woodworking workshop.
About the Knowhow Shop:
Knowhow Shop is a cooperative fabrication shop and design studio located in the Highland Park neighborhood of Los Angeles. The shop's mission is to provide a low cost work space for emerging artists, designers, architects and other creative types by offering a full collection of professional wood working tools, CNC machines and shared studio space.
In this two-day workshop, you will make your very own set of wooden cooking utensils. Choose between walnut and cherry wood to create and finish up to two cooking spoons, forks, spreaders, muddlers or chopsticks of your design.
This class will cover the basics of how to use the bandsaw, carving and shaping tools, as well as the CNC router. Students will also learn how to make a food-safe all natural wood finish for use on their personalized set of utensils.
