We have graciously been invited by the Foreign Film Group to view one of my Favorite films: Paris Je T'aime. Whether you are a fan of Foreign Films, great directors or an Indie buff, this one is for you. See you there!

~SYNOPSIS~

Celebrated directors from around the world, including the Coen Brothers, Gus Van Sant, Gurinder Chadha, Wes Craven, Walter Salles, Alexander Payne and Olivier Assayas, have come together to portray Paris in a way never before imagined. Made by a team of contributors as cosmopolitan as the city itself, this portrait of the city is as diverse as its creators’ backgrounds and nationalities. With each director telling the story of an unusual encounter in one of the city’s neighborhoods, the vignettes go beyond the ‘postcard’ view of Paris to portray aspects of the city rarely seen on the big screen.

With eighteen different directors and a slew of indie actors coming together for Paris Je T'aime, a cinematic homage to the City of Light. Each director presents his or her own short story set in a different Parisian quarter, each one featuring a different cast of characters. The pieces vary in length, with some of them striving to tell a fully developed tale--no matter how simple the plot--while others are more abstract, content to rely on sparse dialogue and vivid imagery. With directors such as Gus Van Sant, Alexander Payne, Wes Craven, and the Coen brothers participating, the tales are as varied and oddball as one might expect. Maggie Gyllenhaal plays a lonely actress with a fondness for her hash dealer. Elijah Wood encounters a seductive vampire on a moonlit street. Steve Buscemi is a flustered tourist. Natalie Portman falls for a deaf Frenchmen. Each tale is markedly unique, and specific to the quirky style of its director, and the film is a veritable Who's Who for indie buffs.

~WHERE~

As the guests of the Foreign Film Club we will have our exclusive PRIVATE MOVIE SCREENING in a lovely venue in Midtown, quality view in total surround sound HD! This venue is fully equipped with both a fully stocked bar and restaurant. We will meet in our own private area on the second floor of the venue. What could be better?! biggrin


~COST~

The first 35 people will pay just $12.75 in advance. After these discounted tickets are gone, the price will be $15 online or at the door.

TICKET PRICE INCLUDES:


  • Admission to the movie
  • One well drink, glass of wine, beer or soft drink
  • Discounted admission to the Salsa Party following the event. You will pay just $5 (regular price $15) for an awesome part with a live Salsa band starting at 10 p.m. Such fun!
  • The opportunity to mix and mingle with other film buff and connoisseurs of fun!


~EVENT SCHEDULE~

5.20 pm: Doors open. Once you arrive, please proceed to our private upstairs lounge.
6.00 pm: Introduction to the movie. Fade to black. Movie begins!
8.00 pm: Movie ends. Let's Mix and Mingle! Stay as long as you'd like!


SALSA PARTY!

At 10 pm, the fun really begins. If you want to extend your night, stay for the Salsa Party. For just $5 this is a deal that cannot be beat!

  • As requested by the venue, this is a Members Only event. If you would like to bring a guest, please encourage them to join the group. Only members will be able to gain entry on the day of the event.

  • Before paying for your ticket, please note the refund policy. This is very important. Please take note. Please make sure you can attend before you purchase your space.

  • Please be on time. Arriving late will disrupt the movie and the group. Please schedule your time accordingly.

  • Come prepared to have a great time. Isn't that what we are all here for?!
