Hi all - A few months back we had discussed doing a survey of world religions. Nothing like a new year to get us on task - let's start the new year with this. In these sessions, we'll focus on a particular world religion for one or multiple discussion sessions as the spirit moves us. We'll also sprinkle in some "unstructured" sessions in between these for those who enjoy the more spontaneous discussions. I thought we'd start with Catholicism since it's been in the news quite a bit this past year.
I encourage you all to come with discussion points that relate to the religion being discussed to these sessions. Here are two as an example - both of which were comments that I heard directly from previous meet-ups.
• Are Catholics Christian?
• What distinguishes Catholicism and Protestanism?
Also if you have friends who are particular adherents to the faith that is being discussed that week - please encourage them to come. I think that will add a little something to the discussion.
Hope to see you Saturday.
