The sheer flexibility of the system -- don't think I've come across a character concept yet that I haven't been able to make with HERO! I also like how it allows for very cinematic gameplay, rather than other systems that degenerate into wars of attrition.
I live in Silver Spring, off of Columbia between University and New Hampshire. My place is currently the default meeting place for the Champions campaign that Michael McClain is running.
Almost 30 years now (got my 2nd Edition copy of "Champions" in 1983 or so)...
Superheroes and Science Fiction are probably my favorites, although I've played just about everything at one time or another...

The other members I have met so far have been pretty uniformly excellent -- I've always said that the HERO System attracts a better class of gamer than, say D&D! (No offense to any current or former dungeon delvers -- it's how I got my start in the hobby, too...) It's a shame we can't always accommodate everyone who wants to play, due to scheduling conflicts or simply not enough room at the table; but hopefully we can get some additional campaigns going, and maybe even do the occasional crossover event...
